Welcome to No.8 Counsellors

At No.8 Counsellors, we offer a calm, confidential and supportive space to talk through whatever you are facing. Based in Norwich city centre, our counsellors work with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, bereavement, relationship issues, trauma, stress, self-esteem and life changes.

We understand that taking the first step can feel daunting. You do not need to have everything figured out before getting in touch. Counselling gives you time and space to explore what is going on, at your own pace, with someone who will listen without judgement.

Our counselling sessions are available in person from our Norwich practice, and some counsellors also offer online or telephone sessions.

Our counsellors

Our team is made up of experienced, professionally qualified counsellors who are committed to providing thoughtful, ethical and effective support.

Each counsellor brings their own experience, approach and areas of interest, so you can choose the person who feels like the best fit for you. If you are unsure who to contact, please send us an enquiry and we can help point you in the right direction.

All counsellors at No.8 Counsellors work within the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, alongside our own Code of Practice covering confidentiality and data protection.

What to expect

Counselling is a collaborative process. It offers a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, and to better understand the patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing.

Some people come to counselling with a specific issue they want to work through. Others simply know that something does not feel right. Both are completely valid reasons to seek support.

Sessions are usually held weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs and the availability of your counsellor.

Emergency support

No.8 Counsellors is not an emergency or crisis service. If you feel at immediate risk of harming yourself or someone else, please call 999 or go to A&E.

If you need urgent mental health support, you can contact NHS 111 online or call 111. You can also call Samaritans free at any time on 116 123.

For mental health information and support, Mind’s Infoline is available on 0300 123 3393. You may also find the Stay Alive app, developed by Grassroots Suicide Prevention, helpful if you are experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm.
