From No.8 to a New Home

In 2021, I took a major step in my career by establishing my private counselling practice in a small office within a shared building. At the time, I was balancing this with my role at MAP, a charity supporting young people in Norwich. That little space, office No.8, was more than just a workplace. It sparked my passion for counselling and inspired a vision: to build not only a successful independent practice but also a supportive community where self-employed therapists could come together, share knowledge and grow. This became the foundation for No.8 Counsellors.

By 2024, my practice had grown steadily, with regular referrals and a deepening love for long-term therapeutic work. I found myself fully embracing private practice, enjoying the freedom to create an environment where clients felt truly heard and supported. As the work expanded, I realised I needed a larger, more dedicated space that reflected the care I offered.

After searching for the right location, I found a new home for No.8 Counsellors. The building, dedicated to health and wellness, offers everything I hoped for, including a warm and welcoming atmosphere and a therapy dog named Lily who brings extra comfort to the space. Although we have moved on from the original office, the name No.8 Counsellors remains, honouring where the practice began and the community I always hoped to build.

Today, No.8 Counsellors has grown to include four therapists: three offering in-person sessions and one providing online therapy. This development marks an exciting milestone and reflects our commitment to offering a nurturing and supportive environment for clients and practitioners alike.

Our new location is part of a thriving well-being community, and I am delighted to work alongside such dedicated professionals. While I have hopes of growing even further in time, for now I am enjoying this new chapter, focusing on settling in, strengthening relationships and continuing to offer quality care. The journey of No.8 Counsellors continues, and I look forward to what lies ahead as we grow and evolve together.
